Covid protocol

The Ontario Government has announced a stay-at-home order that will begin January 14th 2021, that will require everyone to remain at home with exceptions for essential purposes, such as attending a school or a post-secondary institution. (O. Reg 11/21).

It was declared by the province of Ontario that in-person teaching and instruction may be provided only if the subject matter of the teaching or instruction requires that it be taught inperson, such as clinical training or training related to a trade. Other restrictions also apply and are detailed in O. Reg 82/20. Under O. Reg 82/20 Schedule 1 Section 9. (1) The person responsible for a business or place shall ensure that no in-person driving instruction is provided by or at the business or place. (2) Subsection (1) does not apply to in-person driving instruction for drivers of commercial motor vehicles

Anyone who is currently enrolled at Durham Truck and Forklift Driving School LTD. in the Mandatory Entry Level Training AZ program in order to obtain a commercial AZ Licence Class is eligible to attend their scheduled in-class and in-person instruction.

However, in order for everyone to comply with the Ontario Public Health and for the safety of our staff and students we ask that you ONLY attend the class/instruction for which you were given a schedule. Anyone who shows up for in-class, in the yard or in-truck training without a scheduled session will be turned away. YOU MUST HAVE A BOOKED SESSION IN ORDER TO ATTEND TRAINING!

Appointments will be made by phone or email in order to limit time in the office. Appointments must be attended alone. MASKS are mandatory, and screening will be done before entering the office. Please complete the online self-assessment the day before your appointment. Follow the link…

While waiting for your appointment, you will be asked to line up/ stay in the designated social distance area.

Upon entering the office/classroom, you MUST sanitize at our one of our sanitizing stations. Our staff is equipped with gloves and face shields for your added protection.

Prior to the commencement of any of the in-class sessions students will be asked to fill out and sign a COVID-19 questionnaire. Classroom seating is specially designated to adhere to social distancing regulations. Once a desk is chosen please remain in that spot for the duration of the class. The desk will de cleaned and disinfected after each student.

Our in-class instruction is now limited to 8 students plus instructor.

The classroom undergoes daily sanitation before and after in-class sessions.

Bathrooms which are located in the building adhere to the sanitiazation and cleaning protocols of the building maintenance staff. Our in-yard training now takes place in a group of only 3 individuals (instructor included), and the in-truck is one-on-one with the truck being wiped down after each student. (At all times the students and instructor are wearing masks (glove and face shields are optional).
